"Nothing Twice" poetry reading took place on Sunday, February 19, 2006, 6 pm at the Polish Home in Seattle. It was a special evening of the poetry written by women in Polish, English, Russian and Czech. We were listening to the spoken and sung words performed in the original languages. The Polish Ballroom Dance Group participated and added a special Carnival mood to our gathering.

The Salon presented poetry of Wislawa Szymborska (the laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1996) , Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, Agnieszka Osiecka, Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Vlasta Dvorackova, Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Emily Dickinson and others.

Poetry-
but what is poetry anyway?
More than one rickety answer
has tumbled since that question first was raised.
But I just keep on not knowing, and I cling to
that like to a redemptive handrail."

-Wislawa Szymborska
